Job Opportunities

Editorial Internships

Editorial interns work onsite with the S&T staff in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they help produce content for the magazine and website, www.skyandtelescope.com. Work may include writing and editing news stories, producing multimedia content, or pursuing other independent projects, according to interns’ skills and interests. Interns will also be steeped in the day-to-day efforts that go into publishing a monthly magazine.

Applicants should have a strong interest in astronomy and a commitment to explaining science with accuracy and approachability. Those with experience in science journalism and/or the physical sciences are preferred, but ultimately enthusiasm and work ethic weigh heavily in intern decisions, and candidates will be judged on a case- by-case basis.

Timing and extent of internships are negotiable, but a minimum 8-weeks’ commitment is recommended.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter, up to three writing samples, and contact information for two references to Robert Naeye, Editor in Chief.
