Leif Robinson labored as a galley slave at Sky and Telescope for 38 years, the last 20 as editor in chief. Although he retired in October 2000, Leif hangs on as editor emeritus and remains very active in matters astronomical. Now he has ample time to write for and give talks to general audiences and the astronomical community. Leif is especially interested in conveying the excitement of astronomy to enthusiasts in developing countries and in fostering research partnerships between amateurs and professionals.
