Southern Milky Way

A night sky like this is worth the trip.

S&T subscriber John Gardner, a high-school teacher in Mattoon, Illinois, called the offices this morning and was forwarded to me. He wanted to know if there were any "observing resorts" like the Star Hill Inn in the Southern Hemisphere. I didn't know of any off the top of my head, but I said that other people here probably did. After a bit of research, I came up with a few.

For the rest of you who may be tiring of winter and want to go where it's summer, and would like to see the wonders of the southern sky, here's the list I just e-mailed him:

In South Africa: AstroPix Astrophotography Tours.

In Namibia: the Tivoli Southern Sky Lodge and the Hakos Guest Farm.

In Chile: San Pedro de Atacama Celestial Explorations.

In New Zealand: Astronomy Adventures.

In Australia: Grove Creek Observatory and the Ryder Homestead.

Have no money to buy a house? You should not worry, just because it is possible to receive the credit loans to resolve such problems. Thus get a financial loan to buy everything you need.
