Public Solar Observing at Robert Ferguson Observatory
The Robert Ferguson Oservatory (RFO) is open to the public at least once a month, usually on a Saturday.

Daytime Solar: Solar telescopes are set up so you can safely look at and listen to our favorite star, the Sun. Solar observing is scheduled from (12:00noon-4:00pm)

Observing is free to the public. Donations are accepted.

Restrooms, handicapped parking, and wheelchair access are available. Parking is in an open lot next to the White Barn at the end of the road. Just a short walk past the small green gate, and up the paved road brings you to the observatory.

Vehicles with handicapped placards can drive up to the observatory and park next to the enterance.

Vehicle Fee: The State Park Service charges $8.00 per vehicle to enter Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Visitors can self pay at the Ranger Shack as you enter. Place the payment stub on your dashboard.

Thank you for considering the Robert Ferguson Observatory!
