SSF: Manch Airport Flying Through Time
October 24, 2008 @ 12:00 am
This highly illustrated and intriguing presentation by airport historian Ed Brouder and Moe Quirin chronicles the birth, adolescence, and adulthood of one of America's leading airports. See where daredevil balloonists thrilled residents of Manchester, thousands of aircraft and personnel launched during World War II, astronaut Alan Shepard, Jr. - the first American to fly in space - worked in his youth, and view actual video footage of the 1937 control tower being moved across active runways in 2005 to become the home of the NH Aviation Historical Society.
Recommended for ages 8+, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
