Star Gazing

The NASA Glenn Visitor Center in Cleveland, Ohio, in collaboration with the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center/Cuyahoga Astronomical Association will host the Fourth annual “Star Gazing” event on Saturday, April 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Our most popular event ever, don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the many exciting discoveries about our universe. Learn about the stars and identifying the constellations in the Star Lab Dome. Auditorium Lectures will be given throughout the day, which include:
11 a.m. - Twinkle Tots: Toddler program with laser light dancing and magic!
12 p.m. - Reach for the Stars: Research students share the excitement of asteroid discovery.
1 p.m. - Dawn and Deep Impact: Dr. Lucy McFadden on asteroid and dwarf planet exploration.
2 p.m. - Auroras & Space Weather: Meteorologist Jon Loufman on how the sun affects weather.
3 p.m. - A Tour of the Solar System: Virtual tour of the latest Solar System discoveries!
4 p.m. - Comet Making: Science creates a comet right before your eyes!
5 p.m. - One Giant Leap: Compare Earth and moon landscapes.
6 p.m. - Attack on Mars: Learn about the many Mars exploration missions.
7 p.m. - The ABC's of Star Gazing: Get the latest tips to use your telescope effectively.
8 p.m. - What's New with Hubble? The latest images and discoveries!

All day solar and night telescope viewing, weather permitting. View pieces of the Moon and meteorites! Loads of fun and exciting surprises plus kids' crafts, "Picture Yourself in Space" digital photographs and plenty of handouts -- all free!
