Summer Solstice Celebration

Summer is here at last! Come party under the stars at The Children’s Museum with this festive affair for the entire family. Celebrate midsummer with traditions of ancient and modern times. The evening will feature;• “Spirits from the Sky” astronomy show. Explore the sky of the Skidi Pawnee Native American Tribe and how they used the movement of stars to plan their daily lives. Listen as a present-day grandfather tells his grandchildren about their culture and stories of creation,
• A bonfire, storytelling, and cooking over the fire,
• Help us create a permanent sun dial for use at The Children’s Museum,
• Decorate a Midsommer Tree,
• Solstice Scavenger Hunt,
• Crafts such as wreath making, pocket sundials, Hopi Kachina Spirit Dolls and more,
• And of course star gazing!
Young and not so young, this event is sure to have a little something for everyone!
