The May 20 Solar Eclipse
May 20, 2012 @ 12:00 am
Event Navigation
Today’s annular solar eclipse is visible from northern Arizona. Although Flagstaff isn’t the ideal location to observe this event, we should still be able to enjoy some viewing if the weather allows. At 5 p.m. join our educators for an indoor presentation, All You Ever Wanted to Know about Solar Eclipses. Afterward, we will have specially filtered telescopes to allow you to safely view this unique celestial event. The eclipse starts at about 5:24 and viewing will continue until the sun passes behind trees. Later, enjoy exciting multimedia programs and view breathtaking objects through telescopes.
