New Mars and Moon Rocks Found

May 6, 2003 | This week scientists announced the discovery and identification of eight new lunar meteorites and four more from Mars — the largest of the Martians weighing nearly a half kilogram. To date collectors have snatched up 27 distinct meteorites from the Moon (some of which were found in multiple pieces or paired with other finds) and 30 from Mars.
Information about the chemical composition of the new rocks and several more was published in the May 6th issue of the Meteoritical Bulletin.
