The affordably priced StarShoot AutoGuider ($249.95) from Orion Telescopes & Binoculars enables you to track your target precisely during long-exposure astrophotography. This compact guiding camera features a ½-inch-format, 1.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with 5.2-micron-square pixels. Such a large chip virtually guarantees you'll find a suitable guide star with your setup. The StarShoot AutoGuider is powered through the included 10-foot cable that connects to your computer's USB 2.0 port, and it controls your telescope mount via an ST-4-compatible port and a 6-foot cable. It comes with a standard 1¼-inch nosepiece that can be removed to reveal female T-threads, and it's supplied with software compatible with Windows 2000 and higher (including Vista).
