"Go To" Retrofit

Eclipse Telescopes now offers the Gotostar retrofit kit ($699) to computerize any Eclipse Telescopes German equatorial mount. It also works with certain models available from Meade, Celestron, Vixen, and Synta. Each kit comes with all motors, cables, and hardware necessary to attach Gotostar to your mount. The heart of the unit is the Gotostar hand controller, with a large, easy-to-read LCD display and an RS-232 port to connect to a PC or autoguider camera. After a simple one- or two-star alignment, Gotostar can slew your mount at 4° per second to more than 120,000 objects, including the Sun, Moon, and planets, as well as thousands of deep-sky wonders such as the Messier and NGC objects. Up to 256 user-defined objects can be programmed into the onboard memory.
