The Orion Short Tube 80 used for imaging, with the Orion Eon 120 used for autoguiding, both on the Orion Sirius Mount. The Orion 6 mega pixel Star Shoot Pro Single Shot Color Camera was used as the imager in conjunction with a Light Polution Filter

Description

On Jan 15-16, 2012, 9th magnitude Near Earth Asteroid Eros traversed the Leo Constellation. The photo is a stacking of 50 200-second exposures that captures the almost 3-hour motion of Eros in the same field as M95, M96, and M105.

Description

I took this image on January 12, 2012 with my telescope through an H-Alpha filter, it's composed by 18 frames to cover the entire Sun full disk, it's a false color image derived from a grayscale image. Best regards Andrea

Description

The solar storms in the latter portion of January 2012 were precipitated by Sunspots 1401 and 1402. As they marched across the face of the sun they crackled with boundless energy, throwing more than a few Flares and CME's our way. One X Class Flare brought Aurora that was seen as far south as Tucson, Arizona. In this image, the sunspots are just rounding the north eastern solar limb and becoming visible to us. Add in the filament below the spots and the result is a face, peering at us in total silence, smiling as if a harbinger of things to come...

Mars from this morning (Feb.2nd) under favourable conditions and now approaximately one month from opposition. Here from the top Polar regions are Utopia, Cebrenia (Viking2 Lander) Mid area Syrtis Major (Dark area) and Elysium region with Oragraphic clouds and below Hellas and Mare Tyrrhenum region.

Description

I send three photos so that it is possible to see the approach of Venus and the Moon in the days earlier mentioned. They were taken in the dusk - night towards the west. The Moon presents the smile of the cat Chester. In the first photo the Moon and Venus have an angular separation of 22 °

and in the third photo the Moon and Venus they have an angular separation of 7 °, with the difference that the Moon moves forward Venus. All photos taken in my home. Greetins to Sue French!
