Description

Have you ever try to catch the Moon with a net. My girlfriend Sabine did! The movement of the net is in fact due to Sabine because of the 3,2 s exposure and the strong wind.

This image was made with a 24mm lens and employs a technique called "the Shift," short for intra-exposure focus and aperture shift. First, the arch was focused on and rendered with a flash @ f/16 as soon as the time exposure began. Then, the focus was shifted to infinity and the lens opened up to f/2.8 for the remainder of the three minute exposure.

Here is Comet Hale-Bopp framed by the Keyhole Arch and about to set beyond the silhoutte of a chalk pyramid at Monument Rocks National Natural Landmark.

Here, as full as it can ever get, is the moon before entering Earth's shadow. Later this same night, the NY Yankees would be eclipsed by the Boston Red Sox!

Description

These days you can see Mercury and Venus just after sunset at west with naked eyes. The brightest Object after sun and moon is Venus, shining like a diamond at west and some degrees below that is closest planet to sun, Mercury.

Description

After the show this comet put on the nights in late March when it sailed very close past Earth, Hyakutake appeared to fade but as it got closer to the sun it gave us a cool encore. This was the last time we saw it.
