PhotographerRichard BarryLocationDunshaughlin County Meath IrelandDate2 April 2013 at 9:44pm (UTC)EquipmentCanon 7D with 200mm lens at F5 mounted on Astrotrac TT320. Exposure 70 seconds at ISO 800DescriptionSky conditions were perfectly clear with the temperature at around freezing point. Both objects were perfectly clear in 16x 30 binoculars when viewed from a dark field location. PANSTARRS has dimmed quite a bit to magnitude 4.66. It has developed a large fan shaped tail which made it much easier to locate. It was also visible for much longer, as it is becoming circumpolar. |
