PhotographerSteve KleynLocationHermanus, South AfricaDate22Jan 2007 21.08 SASTEquipmentSony HDC1 SLR digital camera, tripod mounted, undriven. Exposure 30secs @ ISO 100, f3.2, 35mm(equiv) lens.DescriptionHermanus is very near the southernmost tip of Africa. We mmissed the first very dramatic re-appearance of comet McNaught from behind the sun 3 days earlier due to cloud. It was still brilliant when the sky cleared and I got some pics. From Gearings Point looking across Walker Bay over the New Harbour (the bright lights). Successive clear nights followed but the tail began to fade noticeably. |
