Description

The Lagoon Nebula #8 of Charles Messier's "not a comet" list, the Lagoon Nebula is a cloud of ionized hydrogen estimated to be 4000-6000 light years from earth. It can be seen with the naked eye as a gray/green patch in the constellation of Sagittarius. The center or core is illuminated by a hot, massive bluish star with an output one million times that of our own sun, most of which is ultraviolet radiation. Right of the center of the photo can be seen NGC 6530, an open cluster of young stars formed from material within the nebula. Processed in false color & cropped to emphasize the core region.

In the altitudeof 3000 meters from the sea leves,in the nearest promenade to the city of Arak, there has been made a new holly tomb of Iraq war martyrs which has become the place for reunion of athletics of this city. In this hight the first thing that attracts every one’s eye is the complete view of the city which is so beautiful.of couse this view has casued a light pollution ,even in this hight, that has made taking pictures of sky alittle hard to do

Description

M101, imaged in May, 2012, shows supernova PTF11kly,a Type Ia discovered on 2011-08-24 by the Palomar Transient Factory is still glowing a distinct blue! It can be seen at 5 o'clock about 3/4 the distance from the galaxy's core to its edge. I was unable to image the supernova after discovery because the view from my observatory was blocked by trees. I was delighted to still see it glowing when the Oregon weather cleared in May, when M101 was high overhead. Although a grand design spiral, M101's has a distinctly off center core and far flung spiral arms, likely from tidal interaction with some of its known satellite galaxies. M101 has a diameter of 170,000 light-years and is 21 million light-years away.
