Description

UARS over Puerto Rico Sept. 22nd 22:56ut ( Approax. 30hrs before Re-Entry ). It was manually tracked. The satellite was traveling about 2 to 2.5x faster then the ISS when it transits and Very bright! for aproaximately 10 seconds. Description

The HR diagrams for globular clusters M13, M5 and M3 shows stars distribution out of the main sequence, with few blue bright stars, proving the age above 10 billion years of these clusters. M3 appears specifically low in numbers of hot blue stars, one of the oldest cluster. I was inspired by your article in S&T of December 2010, from R.J.Vanderbei, "Sequencing the Stars", so I started pointing my scope to GCs and calculating their HR diagrams. All cluster's pictures were taken in the same night, with the same exposure (LRGB 30MIN total) and same elaboration, to allow comparison. Maxim DL for elaboration, Astroart for star identification and PS for final display. Plenty of fun...

Cygnus is a northern constellation lying on the plane of the Milky Way. Its name is the Latinized Hellenic (Greek) word for swan. One of the most recognizable constellations of the northern summer and autumn, it features a prominent asterism known as the Northern Cross (in contrast to the Southern Cross).

Monsoon season in Arizona brings many evenings of rainbows, rain clouds, and sunshine all mixed together. Here is a full rainbow visible to the east. the sun is setting in the west, and with moisture/rain in the air, is casting a very pink/orange glow in the sky.
