I thought that I would miss this encounter today, it's been quite cloudy, but this time Murphy failed. To make the spikes I used and old astronomer trick, some thread attached to the objective of the telescope ;)

Description

Conjunction of Venus and the Pleiades Star Cluster through an 80mm Refractor. Taken North of Adelaide, South Australia on the 3rd of April, 2012. Image was a stack of 40 frames, 20 x 10 seconds at ISO1600 and 20 x 10 seconds at ISO800.

Description

As it cleared at about 9:10 ADT here I went up to our apartment roof and fired off a few shots of the pair. It was very windy and trying to get a good shot was hard to say the least. This was one of the netter shots.
