DescriptionMurphy's law almost got me! An hour prior to the eclipse, I realized that my iPhone was completely out of battery. Frotunately, I could charge it enough to take these pictures. I simply aimed the iPhone into the eyepiece and took the pictures...

EquipmentCanon EOS 5d Mark II; EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens; 260 mm focal length; two filters stacked: .6ND and Vari-ND filter set at 8 stops (2.4ND), making for 10 stops total.
DescriptionThe photo was taken in downtown Reno, with one of the domes of St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in the foreground. Just before the moon moved into full eclipse thick clouds moved in and hid the sun (mother nature always calls the shots). Fortunately, the clouds thinned for the last 45 seconds of the full eclipse and I was able to get some decent shots. It was an experience I'll never forget.
