Description

Image of Venus transiting the Sun soon after ingress. Taken with a hand held camera through the eyepiece at 35X. This was the best of about 150 images taken and has been slightly cropped.

Biggest challenge was the 20 mph winds gusting around. Most of Seattle was clouded over but not to the south.

Description

I took this by shooting through the eyepiece with a Nikon D5000. Shutter at 1/250 and f/5, ISO 250.

Description

Photo shows home setup. Image projected using 25mm eyepiece about 1.2m to form 15cm diameter projection on plain paper. Picture of setup taken with Samsung Android, original file size 1.7MB.

Description

Venus transit of the Sun with a commercial airliner flying thru the field of view. The image was taken just before the Sun was going to go behind the trees at sunset when this airplane passed in front of the sun.
