Photo taken in front of the Air and Space museum. Met several super nice groups of comet observers on the Mall who were eager to share the view under binoculars. Very easy to see with bino, with a beautiful short tail. Barely visible with naked eye. Canon 300D on tripod, 100mm lens.

More clear skies for Jadwin Missouri so I had another chance to photograph comet Pan-STARRS with a 5 inch apochromatic refractor on a Losmandy mount My exposure time was 2 seconds ISO of 2500 and an F stop of 9 at 20:15:45. Cannon 60Da Camera

Description

A wonderful, warm, clear evening, but the comet is still not naked eye visible, but a wonderful sight all the while, Comet Pan-STARRS did become quite red as seen in this photograph just before it set below the horizon.

Description

A quick shot of the comet tonight. To keep the filesize down I resized the full image down quite a bit, the crop on the right is at the camera's full resolution. It looked great in 11x70 binocs, but the weather conditions were brutal
