After failing three nights to find Comet McNaught, I climbed Stone Mountain, the largest granite mountain in North America. With a clear and unobstructed view of the Western horizon, I was easily able to see the Comet as it slowly set against the skyline of Atlanta.

Description

Comet McNaught on the best evening we've had to view it. The sky was very clear and the western horizon still had plenty of light from the sunset. But the comet was a beautiful, naked-eye sight; the coma and tail were clearly visible.
