This photo is actually four photographs taken of Comet Holmes in the early morning (UT) from October 25-28. The dramatic changes in the coma are apparent. All photos are to the same size scale - 1 pixel = .68 arc seconds

Description

Comet Holmes was just above my house with Moon shining bright. I had no problem seeing it with my naked eyes despite lots of stray light around. I think on the image it is superimposed over a triple star system and the comet begins to show elongation.

Description

Five days before this image was taken Comet Holmes fit on the tiny chip of my webcam. Now, it takes up a considerable portion of chip of my digital camera. The gas and dust ejected by this comet on October 24 has expanded at an amazing rate.
