Description

After days of cloudy sunsets, I finally could get a pictures of this beautiful comet. It was amazing, the tail was about 25 degrees tall to naked eye.

Taken less than an hour after Discovery undocked to start the journey home. I shot 3900 video frames during the pass at 20fps, aiming the telescope by hand and using a Telrad reflex finder.

I took a 10 sec shot of Comet McNaught at ISO 800 in an open area located 7 km from downtown Mendoza in Argentina. It was the first chance to get a look at it because the clouds interfered for the 7 preceeding days.
