Description

After several overcast and rainy evenings, the opportunity came to view Comet McNaught. The photograph was taken from a suburb in Pretoria called "Sterrewag" (Observatory), overlooking the lights from Centurion, South Africa.

Description

The nucleus and initial tail are overexposed but the arc of ghost tails in this image are similar to their naked eye appearance. The whole comet is about one handspan or more across.
