Description

This photograph was taken 15 kms North of Cabo San Lucas in the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our original plan was to observe the transit from Todos Santos a small town North of Cabo San Lucas. Bad weather made us move south a few minutes before transit started. You have to travel light for these once in a lifetime events.

Description

Transit of Venus during sunset over the Rocky Mountains. I drove four hours west from Boulder, Colorado to find clear skies and photograph this historical event. As the Sun approached jagged peaks down a valley on the western horizon, smoke particles blown in from a distant forest fire caused the air to turn a vivid orange color.
