Description

I took advantage of the great annular full moon this year by photographing it in our backyard with my Nikon D100 camera and Celestron C-8 Schmidt Cassegrain telescope! Telescope is fixed at F8 and I used a 1/250 shutter speed and set the ISO to 200.

Description

I took this photo of the Conjunction between the almost full moon, Saturn and Spica on May 4th 2012 from the South Hemisphere. The 3 celestial bodies could fit inside the palm of my hand. I used a spike filter on the camera and was surprised to see its effect on the full moon.

Description

The sky was hazy and a bit cloudy today. I waited for a few minutes before sunset to try to image the sun hoping to get a glimpse of AR 1476. My patience was rewarded though only for brief moments before and during the sunset.

A meteor strikes the atmosphere with a green glow close to the Milky Way. Meteor activity has been high in the South Hemisphere lately but the Meteor showers are not showing any peaks.

Description

We were 3 members namely Kumar Nikate, Mangesh Chavan, Ram Karanje from Jyotirvidya Parisanstha, Pune decided to go to the Jaipur which is capital of Rajasthan, India for clear sky. We got there clear sky at the morning of 6th june & we were able to see the whole event of Venus Transit. In above picture, merged 25 picture of transit. First 4 pictures from first row are taken without any filter in the early morning. Other are from Badder filter. Canon powershot SX130 IS. The moring was a very great. After the lots work on last night of 5th we woke up littile late but exact before of sunrise & got a black dot of venus on sun. Then sun became brighter & we used filter. We enjoyed this event & captured some photographs.
