Observing Forecasts for All!

Astroweather Panel
The Astroweather Panel provides atmospheric conditions for the next two days for the entire planet.
Ye Quanzhi
Some amateur astronomers can't live without their Clear Sky Chart, the handy graphic that forecasts such need-to-know atmospheric conditions like cloud cover, transparency, and humidity. The major problem with Attilla Danko's fabulous service is that it's only available for North America — most of it, anyway.

We received word this morning that now the rest of the world can benefit from a similar website built by Chinese programmer Ye Quanzhi. His Astroweather Panel covers everywhere Clear Sky Chart does not. Select a location by entering your geographic coordinates, or navigate through the place names, organized by country, already in the system.

Check it out and please post a comment below with your experiences.

APanel in Japan

Posted by Mike October 11, 2008 At 12:43 AM PDT
I live in Okinawa and have been wishing CSC would cover Japan one day - APanel beat them to it! The cloud cover predition for today looks pretty accurate; hopefully it will prove to be so on a regular basis.

Well, the Astroweather panel looks promising. It contains a fast database of locations and the info presented is elaborate. And at least the "prediction" of today looks rather accurate, so that's a good first impression.

APanel

I live in the UK and I found APanel about a month ago and think its great. I observe from different locations (including on holiday in Devon) and have found the range of locations provided by APanel helpful when planning to observe. The forecast has been good so far and I look forward to obseving when APanel says its clear.
