Drunken Moon

Everyone out there regularly looks at our website's Photo Gallery, right? Right? Well, if you check it infrequently, go look now to see the result of French astrophotographer Laurent Laveder's two-year project to capture changes in the size of the full Moon month to month. His animation also reveals how our satellite (the main one, not the temporary one) wobbles due to libration. You can simulate these effects with today's sky-simulation software by tracking on the Moon, keeping it centered, and then ramping up the time step. But it's fun to see it for real.
