iOptron introduces its SkyTracker ($399), a portable camera drive. The SkyTracker is a 6-by-4-by-2-inch drive unit with a 156-tooth aluminum-alloy gear that attaches to any standard camera tripod, allowing you to take perfectly tracked wide-field photos with your camera. It can reliably support up to 6.6 pounds (3 kg) of gear, and runs for 24 hours on four internal AA batteries. SkyTracker comes with an integrated latitude adjustment wedge with an adjustment range of 0° to 70°, an illuminated polar-alignment scope, and a padded case. A DC power adapter and ball-head are available at additional cost.
