Login and Registration Help

While access to online articles on SkyandTelescope.com is free, we do ask that you first register with us to access or interact with certain parts of the site. These include:

  • submitting astrophotos to be considered for publication on SkyandTelescope.com
  • joining one or more of our Reader Panels
  • submitting reader comments to selected articles
  • submitting information about your astronomy club or event
  • signing up for any of SkyandTelescope.com's free e-newsletters

How to Register

When you register, you'll first be asked to set up a registration profile. In addition to asking for your name and e-mail address, we'll ask about your level of expertise in astronomy and whether you subscribe to Sky & Telescope and/or Night Sky magazine.

Next you'll be asked if you wish to sign up for any of our free e-newsletters, to join any of our SkyandTelescope.com Reader Panels, and to receive informational or promotional e-mails from Sky Publishing. Finally, you'll be asked to specify a login password.

To register, click here or look in the upper-left corner of any page on SkyandTelescope.com and click on Create Account.

After you've signed up, look again in the upper-left corner of any page on the site. Instead of saying MY PROFILE, it should welcome you by name. Congratulations, and welcome to the SkyandTelescope.com community!

Note: Registration at SkyandTelescope.com is separate from your registration at ShopatSky.com and classifieds.SkyandTelescope.com. Be sure to sign up for all three services!

Once You're Registered

Below the welcome message is a Logout button and a link to manage your account. Click on Manage Account to update your profile settings, change your e-mail address or login password, update your e-newsletter subscriptions, and change your SkyandTelescope.com Reader Panel subscription preferences. This is the page you should visit if you wish to unsubscribe to any services.

If you are registered but have forgotten your password, please use our password reminder.
