Comet 229P/Gibbs returns to Earth’s Night Sky

Comet 229P/Gibbs was at perihelion in May 2017 during it's 7.81 year orbit and is now near it's peak magnitude at 18.6 in this image when it was 188 million miles from Earth. 229P has a very short tail below the coma.
