DescriptionThe Witch Head nebula - interstellar dust is reflecting a ghostly light from Rigel (the bright star at the right foot of Orion). This was a relatively short exposure for this dim object due to non-cooperative weather, and a synthetic luminance image was created from the RGB data. Taken in November 2010 at Sierra Skies Observatory in El Dorado Hills, California.
