Description
This image was captured on the flight deck of the USS Hornet, the aircraft carrier that picked up Apollo 11 astronauts after they became the first humans to set foot on the moon. I combined two exposures for this image, one of the city and the "bloody" side of the moon still in Earth's shadow, and another of the sunlit side of the moon and blended them together to more accurately portray what it looked like in real life.
