Description:

M71 is a loose and relatively metal rich globular. There are horizontal-branch (He fusing core) stars which give it the definition of a globular. This image shows the cluster on the left; to the right is an asterism that will be well known to small telescope users. Total exposure was 8m 40s in 13s subframes stacked in DeepSkyStacker.
