Location of Photo:

Lake Cascade, Idaho, between Cascade and Donnelly

Date/Time of photo:

2017 August 21

Equipment:

TeleVue 85mm apochromatic refractor with focal reducer, 480mm f/5.6, Canon 60Da camera, Thousand Oaks solar filter for partial phases, Meade German equatorial mount

Description:

Maybe it was just the clear skies we had, but everything seemed super-sharp at this eclipse: the whiteness of the corona, the sparkling brilliance of the diamond rings, the details of the prominences. The only thing that wasn't sharp was the edge of the moon's shadow; we didn't really see it clearly defined.
