Meade 10" LX200R with the original alt-az mount, w/ Meade series 5000 3x telextender, The Imaging Source DBK21AU04.AS camera, and Astronomik IR-block filter. ~2000/3000 frames shot at 7fps, derotated, processed in registax, and touched up in photoshop.

Description:

In December of 2007, Saturn's rings went though their smallest tilt since 1997 and the smallest until late 2008. Due to the small tilt, two of Saturn's moons also form an unusually pretty pairing (Rhea on top and Dione on the bottom, brightness enhanced), with Rhea almost grazing the globe of Saturn.
