Transits

The transits of Venus in 2004 and 2012 were events of a lifetime — literally. The next pair of Venus transits won't happen until December 11, 2117, and December 8, 2125. Relive the historical event by browsing the photos in this gallery.
You'll also find images of Mercury's transit across the Sun in 2006 and 2016. Fortunately for stargazers (and astrophotographers), Mercury transits the Sun occur far more frequently than Venus, 14 times per century.
