Casey Reed

Dennis di Cicco
Casey joined the staff of Sky & Telescope in 2003 as Illustrator shortly after receiving his Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art.

Prior to attending college, Casey served three years in the U.S. Army and is currently a member of the Massachusetts National Guard.

Casey is a space enthusiast, and has been interested in all things astronomical since childhood. Casey enjoys the challenge of trying to visualize and illustrate astronomical scenes that cannot be captured with detail through telescopes or photographic means. He is continuously pursuing new techniques and approaches to represent the science and editorial content of Sky & Telescope in a manner that is both scientifically accurate as well as aesthetically pleasing.

Besides his work for S&T, Casey has been commissioned to create freelance artwork for NASA and the W. M. Keck Observatory. He currently resides outside of Boston with his wife and two young sons.
