After studying physics and astronomy at the University of Alberta, Paul Deans spent nearly 30 years sharing his knowledge and love of the night sky with planetarium audiences across Canada. During this time he wrote and produced more than 100 multimedia shows (primarily for star theaters), gave countless lectures and night-sky presentations, and organized and ran numerous astronomy outreach programs.

Paul joined the staff of Sky Publishing in 2000. For the next five years he was a Sky & Telescope and Night Sky associate editor, the editor of SkyWatch (Sky Publishing's annual guide to telescopes and stargazing), and the editor of the Observing section of S&T's Web site. He is currently the Acquisitions Editor for Books and Products at Sky Publishing, which means he's always on the lookout for a good book project. When he's not reading manuscripts, Paul can be found traveling and catches solar eclipses whenever (and wherever) he can.
