Shooting Stars — and anything else that requires long exposures — is within your reach with Orion Telescope & Binoculars new StarShoot Deep Space Color Imager II ($699.95). This new single-shot color CCD camera features a Sony ½-inch-format detector with an array of 752 × 582 pixels, which provides a wider field of view than its predecessor had. The camera also has an improved thermoelectric cooling system powered by 3 volts DC (two D-cell batteries). This allows long exposures with less thermal noise than you'll get from an uncooled camera. Each StarShoot Deep Space Color Imager II comes with a 10-foot USB 2.0 cable, and MaxIm DL Essentials Edition software for complete control of all camera functions and post-exposure processing.
