Cosmic Explorations Speaker Series – Mars and Curiosity

September 6 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) has been part of NASA’s adventure of exploring the solar system since 1968. In that time, our understanding of the solar system has changed greatly. What was known about the surface of Mars (particularly its habitability) 50 years ago? How has our knowledge of the surface of Mars evolved in that time? How have recent missions contributed to our evolving view of the surface of Mars and its habitability? Dr. Kirsten Siebach from Rice University will address these questions and more in the first presentation of LPI's 2018-2019 Cosmic Explorations Speaker Series.

Dr. Siebach's presentation will also be streamed live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/YMjupNHukn7.
