Description:

Asteroid Florence is only 2 nights from it's close approach to Earth at 3AM MDT September 1. In these images the asteroid is magnitude 9 and about 4.6 million miles from Earth. The 7 different images try to show the asteroid in different ways. The asteroid was moving about 1/3 degree per hour across the night sky.
