For a recent holiday to Tasmania, and just on the off-chance of an aurora, we booked one night of accommodation with a south-facing balcony view over the sea. We got lucky! An aurora was visible even before it got fully dark and we were treated to the best naked-eye display for a year or more, and very different to our Aurora Borealis sightings. Exposure 8 secs, f/4, ISO 3200.
