Description:

Comet 123P/West-Hartley will reach perihelion in it's 7.58 year orbit on 5 February 2019 when it will be 198 million miles from the Sun. 123P will make it's close approach to earth on 27 February 2019 when it will be 111 million miles from Earth and should reach magnitude 14. In this image 123P is 267 million miles from Earth and about magnitude 17.8. It has a very short fan shaped tail just above and to the left of the coma in this image.
