Date/Time of photo:

12th December 2018, start time 20h 18m UT

Equipment:

100mm focal length Nikon lens on D800 camera. Star Adventurer portable equatorial mount.

Description:

A 41m 20s stack, starting at 20h 18m UT, of 10s subframes with the 100mm Nikon 'Series E' lens at f/4. ISO set to 3200. There are interestingly two central streaks which make it appear like the nucleus was double (which is most unlikely). The comet came to perihelion a mere 2 hours after this exposure (perihelion at 22h 20m UT). Closest approach to earth in 4 days.
