Description:
This Gif is a collection of 3 images each 600 seconds long that shows the movement of Comet 364P/PANSTARRS dust tail over one hour. The dust tail is about 3' (0.05 degrees) long and trails to the SSW of the comet. The comet nucleus is not visible in these images. The comet was 116 million miles from Earth in these images and about magnitude 19. 364P was at perihelion in it's 4.88 year orbit in June, it made a close approach to Earth at about 22 million miles in July when it reached magnitude 11.

I made a mistake with the direction of the dust trail, the dust trail drifts to the WSW of the coma with a PA of 239 degrees as seen from Earth.
