10-inch Newtonian (f/4.7) and coma corrector. Nikon D3300 DSLR at 1600 ISO.
An 18m 30s (stack of 10s subframes) exposure of the Fireworks galaxy (without a SN here) and the neighboring (line-of-sight) open cluster NGC 6939. This is a cropped frame, processed in Photoshop for the galaxy area, the cluster area and then overall frame before converting to a negative, black and white image. The method was used to avoid problems with the vignetting.
