Description:
The Lagoon Nebula, Messier 8 (NGC 6523) is one of the finest star-forming regions in the sky, is is faintly visible with the naked eye in clear dark skies. It is a giant glowing cloud of interstellar gas, divided by a dark lane of dust, containing a cluster of young stars. This HaRGB "snapshot" consists of 1-Ha exposure of 15 minutes and 1- each of RGB at 7 minutes.
