Description:

The picture is a collage of 4 photos, each showing a distinct stage of the recent lunar eclipse. Image 1: Deep partial eclipse. Image 2: Moon entering total eclipse. Image 3: Mid-eclipse 21 Dec 2010 at 0:17 Pacific time. Due to the longer exposure some stars are visible in the background. Image 4: late stage of partial eclipse (after total eclipse).
